Couple With Beautiful Smile

Missing teeth can have a significant impact on your chewing ability and self-esteem. If left untreated, it may also lead to bone loss and additional health issues. However, there are several tooth replacement solutions to choose from based on your needs and goals.

Partial missing teeth

For patients who are missing a few teeth, we offer single-tooth implants, bridge implants, or partial dentures.

Single Implant

For patients who are only missing 1 tooth, a single-tooth implant might be the best option because it looks the most natural. There are 3 components to dental implants:

There are 2 types of dental implants:

  • Endosteal: most common, goes into the jawbone
  • Subperiosteal: not used very often, placed in the gum, above the jawbone. This works well for patients who do not have adequate jawbone density.

Dental implants are the most expensive tooth replacement option, but dental insurance may cover a portion of the procedure. However, research shows that dental implants tend to last the longest out of all of the tooth replacement options.

Bridge Implants

For patients who don’t have healthy teeth for a bridge to anchor to, we recommend bridge implants. If it is determined that bridge implants are the best option for you, we will place two dental implants, one on each side of the gap. Then, the custom bridge will be attached to the implants to replace the missing teeth. However, you must be healthy enough for dental implants. The average cost is between $1,500 to $6,000.

Partial dentures

Partial dentures, or partials, are designed to replace a few missing teeth. Typically, partials are removable- though they may be fixed. In this case, they are called bridge implants. The average cost of removable partials is $650 to $2,500.

Full teeth replacement

For patients who are missing most or all of their teeth, we recommend dentures (traditional, removable snap-on, or permanent snap-on dentures), All-on-4 dental implants, and All-on-6 dental implants.

Dentures (should mention removable/Snap-on dentures)

At Peak Dental Group, we offer several different types of dentures for replacing missing teeth. For patients who are on a budget, we often recommend traditional dentures because they are the most affordable. However, this is not the best option. While it does replace your missing teeth, it will not protect against bone loss.

If dentures are needed, fixed snap-on dentures are the best. This is a tooth replacement solution that uses 2 to 8 dental implants, based on the condition and size of the patient’s jawbone. For patients with a smaller, healthy arch, 4 implants will be sufficient, while patients with a larger arch or with poor bone density may require more implants. Snap-on dentures may be removable or fixed.

Removable snap-on dentures must be removed at night before sleeping, just like traditional dentures. On the other hand, fixed snap-on dentures are considered permanent because only a dentist can remove them for cleaning. The cost depends on how many implants are required- but on average, a 2-implant snap-on denture starts at around $6,000.

All-on-4 dental implants

All-on-4 dental implants is a tooth replacement option that replaces an entire arch of teeth. In this procedure, we place 4 dental implants into the jawbone. Two of the implants are placed in the front, straight, and two are placed in the back at a 45° angle. By placing the back implants at an angle, the stability and support are increased. The average cost of All-on-4 dental implants is around $21,000. This does not include additional procedures such as bone grafting or extractions. When compared to replacing all teeth with single-tooth dental implants, this is much more affordable.

All-on-6 Dental Implants

All-on-6 dental implants is similar to All-on-4, but with 6 implants instead of 4. However, the implants are all paced straight instead of angled. Since there are two additional implants, All-on-6 will cost slightly more than All-on-4.

Financing and Insurance

While dental insurance doesn’t typically cover cosmetic procedures, yours may cover tooth replacement since it’s not purely cosmetic. At Peak Dental Group, we accept a variety of dental insurance plans. Our friendly office staff will work with your dental insurance to determine coverage.

If you do not have dental insurance or your insurance coverage is not sufficient, we accept a variety of payment options, including financing through PayBright by Affirm. We can also help you structure your treatment plan so that it fits within your budget.

Missing Teeth Solutions FAQs

At Peak Dental Group, we interact with our patients personally. We want to help you understand the procedures before you go through them. Therefore, we often hear a lot of questions. Some of the most common questions we hear about out teeth replacement solutions include:

How long do partials last?
The life expectancy of a partial depends on several factors, including your dental hygiene habits and your bite. A partial may last for many years but may require modifications over the years.
What are the common causes of missing teeth?
Missing teeth may be caused by genetics, poor dental hygiene, tooth decay, trauma, and many other factors.
What are the advantages of dental implants?
The major advantage of dental implants is that they can last a lifetime, with proper maintenance. They also allow you to eat the foods you like, be active, improve your appearance and boost your confidence. Plus, they are made of titanium, so you don’t have to worry about them getting cavities or decaying.
What are the different types of dentures?
Dentures may be used to replace some (partials) or all (full) of your teeth. The dentures that replace all of the teeth are often referred to as “complete” dentures. The retention and stability of dentures can be improved with dental implants.
Are tooth replacement solutions painful?
For any of the tooth replacement solutions that require surgery, you will be given a local anesthetic to numb the area while we work. When the numbness wears off, you may have some discomfort because you have something new in your mouth that wasn’t there before. However, as you get used to the new dental appliance, the discomfort should fade. If it does not, please let us know as soon as possible and we will schedule you an appointment to find out what is causing the problem.
For patients who have dental anxiety, we can offer you general anesthesia so that you sleep through the whole process. Either way, you will want to bring someone with you to take you home after the procedure.
